BCARS Mission Statement
To advance knowledge and understanding of the Arab Region through collaborative research, policy analysis, and mentoring the next generation of scholars within the Arab Region and the United States.
To strengthen Arab Region studies through the creation of an environment that encourages collaboration, traditional mentoring (senior-junior researchers) and peer-mentoring, and original academic inquiry by both Arab Region and U.S.-based academics. This helps ensure inclusive, international, and interdisciplinary research and analysis.
To increase American public literacy, access to, and engagement in Arab Region issues through dissemination of our work.
To convene workshops with policy makers, practitioners, academics, and students to generate policy recommendations and share "best practices" with various audiences.
In the long term, to support capacity building and institutional development in the Arab region through the development of a model Consortium that may eventually be replicated both domestically and abroad.
